About this exercise

The neck side stretch is a simple mobility exercise that lengthens the lateral neck muscles and upper trapezius on one side at a time. It helps relieve tension from prolonged sitting or screen time and improves cervical range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Stand or sit tall with your spine neutral and shoulders relaxed
  • Slowly tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear toward your shoulder
  • Use your hand on the same side to gently add light pressure for a deeper stretch if desired
  • Hold the position for 20–30 seconds, breathing steadily
  • Return your head to center and repeat on the other side
