About this exercise

A controlled walking variation of the mountain climber where you step each foot toward your hands while maintaining a high-plank position. It builds core stability and hip flexor endurance at a lower intensity than standard mountain climbers.

How to Perform

  • Start in a high plank position with hands directly under your shoulders and body in a straight line
  • Brace your core and keep your hips level throughout the movement
  • Step your right foot forward toward your right hand, keeping the knee low to the ground
  • Return the right foot to the starting position
  • Step your left foot forward toward your left hand in the same manner
  • Return the left foot to the starting position
  • Continue alternating sides at a slow, controlled walking pace
