About this exercise

The Meadows row is a single-arm landmine row that hits the upper back, rear delts and lats from a unique angle. The staggered stance and overhand grip emphasize the rear delts and create a strong stretch and contraction in the back.

How to Perform

  • Set one end of a barbell into a landmine or corner and load the free end
  • Stand in a staggered stance perpendicular to the bar, hinging at your hips
  • Grip the end of the bar with an overhand grip using the hand farthest from the weight
  • Brace your core and keep your back flat
  • Pull the bar up and back, driving your elbow toward the ceiling
  • Squeeze your upper back and rear delt at the top
  • Lower the bar under control to a full stretch, then repeat before switching sides

About the Meadows rows

The Meadows rows is a foundational movement that builds strength and muscle through controlled, progressive overload. Train it 1 to 2 times per week with 3 to 5 working sets per session, gradually adding weight or reps as form holds up.
