The Lying Tuck Crunch is a bodyweight abdominal exercise that simultaneously curls the upper body and draws the knees toward the chest, creating a powerful double-ended contraction of the rectus abdominis. It is an accessible core move suitable for beginners and intermediate trainees alike.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with arms extended at your sides and legs straight
  • Simultaneously raise your upper back off the floor and bend both knees, drawing them toward your chest
  • Aim to bring your knees and chest as close together as possible at the top
  • Hold the contraction briefly, then slowly extend both legs and lower your upper back
  • Return to the starting position without letting your feet fully touch the floor
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
