About this exercise

The lying prone A is a corrective shoulder and upper-back exercise performed face-down on the floor. With arms forming an "A" shape overhead, it targets the lower trapezius and posterior shoulder muscles, helping to improve scapular stability and posture.

How to Perform

  • Lie face-down on the floor with your forehead resting lightly on the ground
  • Extend your arms diagonally overhead so they form an "A" shape, thumbs pointing upward
  • Squeeze your lower traps and gently lift your arms off the floor, keeping them straight
  • Hold the raised position for a moment, feeling the contraction between your shoulder blades
  • Lower your arms back to the floor with control
  • Keep your neck neutral and avoid shrugging your shoulders toward your ears
  • Repeat for the desired number of repetitions
