About this exercise

A plyometric movement in which you launch your body as far forward as possible from a standing position, training explosive lower-body power. The long jump develops the quadriceps, glutes, and calves while demanding full-body coordination and a controlled landing.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart behind the take-off line
  • Bend your knees and swing your arms back to load the hips
  • Explosively drive through both legs and swing your arms forward to propel your body as far as possible
  • Keep your gaze forward and tuck your knees toward your chest during flight
  • Land softly on both feet simultaneously, absorbing the impact by bending your knees
  • Stick the landing and stand fully upright before resetting
