About this exercise

A compound lower-body exercise performed on a plate-loaded leverage leg press machine, primarily targeting the quadriceps and glutes. The lever mechanism provides a smooth pressing motion and accommodates heavy loading with controlled depth.

How to Perform

  • Load the machine with the desired weight plates
  • Sit on the machine and place your feet shoulder-width apart on the footplate
  • Release the safety handles and lower the platform by bending your knees toward your chest
  • Stop when your knees reach approximately 90 degrees or before your lower back begins to round
  • Press through your heels to extend your legs and return the platform to the starting position
  • Avoid locking out your knees at the top
  • Re-engage the safety handles after completing your set before stepping off
