About this exercise

The lever kneeling twist is a machine-based rotational exercise performed from a kneeling position that targets the obliques and deep core stabilisers. The lever arm provides controlled resistance through the rotational range of motion, making it effective for developing rotational strength and core stability.

How to Perform

  • Kneel on the machine pad with your knees together and hips upright
  • Grip the lever handles at chest height with both hands
  • Brace your core and keep your hips stationary throughout the movement
  • Rotate the torso to one side as far as comfortable, leading with the elbows
  • Pause briefly at end range, feeling the obliques engage
  • Rotate back to center under control, then repeat to the opposite side
