About this exercise

The lever high row is a plate-loaded machine row where the handles are positioned at a high angle, targeting the upper lats, rear deltoids, and trapezius. The lever arm guides the pull in a natural arc that emphasises upper-back thickness and improves posture.

How to Perform

  • Load the machine and adjust the chest pad so you are fully supported when leaning forward
  • Grip the handles with an overhand or neutral grip, arms extended at the high angle
  • Brace your core and retract your shoulder blades to initiate the pull
  • Row the handles toward your upper chest, driving your elbows back and out
  • Squeeze the upper back at full contraction
  • Extend your arms under control back to the starting position
