EasyCore

About this exercise

The kneeling thoracic rotation is a mobility drill that targets upper-back rotation. From a quadruped position, one hand is placed behind the head and the elbow is swept toward the floor then rotated open toward the ceiling, gently unlocking stiffness in the thoracic spine.

How to Perform

  • Start on all fours with hands under shoulders and knees under hips
  • Place one hand behind your head with the elbow pointing out to the side
  • Rotate that elbow down toward the opposite knee while rounding your upper back
  • Then rotate it upward and open, following your elbow with your eyes until it points toward the ceiling
  • Pause at the top to feel the thoracic stretch, then return to the starting position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other arm
