About this exercise

The kneeling dynamic plank is a core strengthening exercise performed from a modified plank position on the knees. It reduces the load compared to a full plank while still challenging core stability through controlled dynamic movement. The exercise builds endurance in the abs, core, and supporting shoulder muscles.

How to Perform

  • Start on all fours with hands directly under shoulders and knees on the floor
  • Lower to your forearms or keep arms extended, forming a straight line from knees to shoulders
  • Brace your core and maintain a neutral spine
  • Perform the dynamic movement by alternately extending one arm forward or rocking the body back and forth in a controlled manner
  • Keep hips level and avoid rotating or sagging through the lower back
  • Return to the starting position and repeat for the desired reps
