About this exercise

A standing stretch where you pull one knee toward your chest to release tension in the glute, hamstring, and lower back. Performed one leg at a time, it provides a targeted stretch through the posterior chain and helps improve hip mobility.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your arms at your sides
  • Shift your weight onto one foot and lift the opposite knee up toward your chest
  • Clasp both hands around your shin or behind the back of your thigh
  • Gently pull the knee closer to your chest until you feel a stretch in the glute and hamstring
  • Hold the position for the desired duration while keeping your standing leg straight and your torso upright
  • Slowly lower the leg and repeat on the other side
