About this exercise

The Knee Drive is a plyometric and conditioning drill in which you explosively drive one knee upward from a split stance or standing position. It trains hip flexor power, core stability, and single-leg balance, and is commonly used as a sprint-mechanics drill or as part of a cardio circuit.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with one foot slightly in front of the other in a staggered stance
  • Shift your weight onto the back foot and brace your core
  • Explosively drive the back knee upward as high as possible while swinging the opposite arm forward
  • Land softly on the same foot without losing balance
  • Lower the leg back to the starting position under control
  • Complete all reps on one leg before switching sides
