About this exercise

The kettlebell concentration curl is a single-arm isolation exercise performed seated, bracing the working arm against the inner thigh to eliminate momentum. This strict positioning maximises biceps recruitment and peak contraction.

How to Perform

  • Sit on a bench or chair with your feet flat on the floor and legs spread apart
  • Hold a kettlebell in one hand and brace the back of your upper arm against the inner thigh of the same side
  • Let your arm hang straight with the kettlebell just above the floor
  • Curl the kettlebell upward by flexing your elbow until the bell is near your chin
  • Squeeze your biceps at the top of the movement
  • Lower the kettlebell slowly and under control back to the start position
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching arms
