About this exercise

The kettlebell angled press is a unilateral pressing exercise in which you press a kettlebell at an angle rather than straight overhead or horizontally. The angled path challenges the shoulder and engages the back muscles for stabilization, making it an effective functional strength movement.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart or in a staggered stance for added stability
  • Hold a kettlebell at shoulder height on one side with your palm facing inward
  • Brace your core and maintain a neutral spine throughout the movement
  • Press the kettlebell upward and slightly across the body at an angle, following a diagonal path
  • Extend your arm fully at the top while keeping your shoulder packed down and back
  • Lower the kettlebell back to the starting position in a controlled manner
  • Complete all reps on one side before switching
