About this exercise

Jump Squat II is an advanced plyometric variation of the standard jump squat, performed with hands clasped behind the head to remove arm assistance and increase core demand. It develops explosive lower-body power and cardiovascular conditioning at a higher intensity than the standard version.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and clasp your hands behind your head
  • Keep your elbows out and chest tall throughout the movement
  • Descend into a squat by pushing your hips back and bending your knees to at least 90 degrees
  • Explode upward as forcefully as possible, leaving the ground completely
  • Keep your hands behind your head during the jump
  • Land softly with bent knees to absorb the impact
  • Immediately transition into the next squat without pausing
