About this exercise

Jump rope is a classic cardiovascular exercise that elevates heart rate rapidly while also training calf endurance, coordination, and timing. It can be used as a warm-up, conditioning tool, or stand-alone cardio session.

How to Perform

  • Hold one handle of the jump rope in each hand with a relaxed grip, elbows tucked close to your sides
  • Stand with feet hip-width apart and a slight bend in your knees
  • Swing the rope overhead using small circular wrist rotations
  • Jump off both feet as the rope passes under them, landing softly on the balls of your feet
  • Keep your posture upright and gaze forward throughout the movement
  • Maintain a steady, consistent rhythm for the desired duration
