About this exercise

A high-intensity bodyweight exercise that combines a standard burpee with a jumping jack, maximising cardiovascular demand and full-body power output. The added lateral hop recruits the hip abductors and inner thighs while keeping the heart rate elevated.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Bend at the hips and knees and place both hands on the floor shoulder-width apart
  • Jump or step both feet back simultaneously into a high plank position
  • Perform a push-up by lowering your chest to the floor, then press back up
  • Jump both feet forward toward your hands
  • Explosively jump upward; as you leave the ground, spread your legs wide and extend your arms overhead (jumping jack position)
  • Land softly with feet together and immediately begin the next rep
