About this exercise

An abdominal exercise performed on an incline bench where the hips are curled upward toward the chest against gravity. The incline angle increases the range of motion and difficulty compared to a flat lying hip raise.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back on an incline bench with your head at the top, gripping the sides or top handles for stability
  • Extend your legs straight out, keeping them together
  • Engage your core and curl your hips off the bench, drawing your knees toward your chest
  • Pause briefly at the top, squeezing your abs
  • Slowly lower your hips back to the starting position without letting them drop
  • Avoid using momentum — keep each rep controlled
