About this exercise

The incline finger press is a grip-strength exercise performed in an inclined push-up position with the fingertips (instead of the full palm) bearing the body's weight. The elevated angle reduces the load compared to a flat floor finger press, making it accessible for building finger flexor and forearm strength progressively.

How to Perform

  • Place your fingertips on an elevated surface such as a bench or step, arms fully extended
  • Walk your feet back so your body forms a straight plank line at an incline
  • Brace your core and keep your shoulders packed
  • Perform a controlled pressing movement, bending the elbows to lower your chest toward the surface, then press back up
  • Maintain contact only through the fingertips throughout the entire movement
  • Complete all reps with controlled tempo
