About this exercise

High Knee Tap is a dynamic plyometric cardio exercise where you rapidly drive alternating knees up toward your chest while tapping each knee with the opposite hand. It elevates the heart rate, engages the hip flexors and core, and improves coordination and lower-body power.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, arms extended in front of you at waist height
  • Drive your right knee up toward your chest and tap it with your left hand
  • Quickly return your right foot to the floor and immediately drive your left knee up
  • Tap your left knee with your right hand
  • Continue alternating at a fast, controlled pace
  • Keep your core braced and your back upright throughout
  • Maintain a light, springy posture on the standing foot
