About this exercise

A glute and hamstring exercise that builds on the basic glute bridge by walking the feet forward and back while maintaining a raised hip position. The dynamic foot movement increases the stability demand on the posterior chain and core.

How to Perform

  • Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart
  • Press through your heels to raise your hips into a glute bridge position, forming a straight line from shoulders to knees
  • While keeping your hips elevated, slowly walk your feet forward one step at a time
  • Continue until your legs are nearly straight and you feel a strong glute and hamstring stretch
  • Walk your feet back in one step at a time to return to the starting position
