About this exercise

A dynamic plyometric exercise that combines a forward kick with a torso twist, training core rotational power, hip flexor strength, and cardiovascular conditioning. It is a staple move in cardio kickboxing and conditioning circuits.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet hip-width apart and hands raised in a guard position in front of your chest
  • Shift your weight onto your right leg and lift your left knee toward your chest
  • Drive your left foot forward in a front kick, extending the leg fully
  • As you retract the kick, simultaneously twist your torso to the left
  • Return to the starting position and plant your foot
  • Repeat on the right side and continue for the desired number of repetitions
