About this exercise

The finger raises plank is a grip and forearm exercise performed in a push-up plank position. While holding a stable plank, you sequentially lift individual fingers off the floor, challenging the forearm flexors, extensors, and intrinsic hand muscles under load.

How to Perform

  • Assume a high push-up plank position with hands flat on the floor directly under your shoulders
  • Keep your body in a straight line from head to heels and brace your core
  • While maintaining the plank, slowly lift one finger at a time off the floor and hold briefly
  • Lower that finger, then raise the next one, cycling through all fingers
  • Continue for the prescribed number of repetitions or time
  • Keep hips level and avoid rotating the torso throughout
