About this exercise

A shoulder isolation exercise performed lying prone on an incline bench, raising dumbbells forward and upward to target the anterior deltoid. The incline setup removes body sway, ensuring the front shoulder does all the work.

How to Perform

  • Set an adjustable bench to a 45–60 degree incline and lie face-down with your chest against the pad
  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand with arms hanging straight down, palms facing each other
  • Raise both dumbbells forward and upward in an arc until your arms are roughly parallel to the floor
  • Keep a slight bend in your elbows throughout the movement
  • Pause briefly at the top position
  • Lower the dumbbells back down slowly under control and repeat
