About this exercise

A high-intensity full-body conditioning exercise that combines a dumbbell burpee with a double dumbbell snatch, demanding explosive power and cardiovascular endurance throughout the entire kinetic chain. It is a staple in functional fitness and CrossFit-style training.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart holding a dumbbell in each hand
  • Hinge forward and place the dumbbells on the floor directly below your shoulders
  • Jump or step both feet back into a push-up position
  • Perform a push-up, keeping your body in a straight line
  • Jump or step your feet back toward your hands
  • In one explosive movement, swing both dumbbells out and snatch them overhead, locking out your arms at the top
  • Lower the dumbbells with control back to the starting position
