About this exercise

A bodyweight pressing exercise performed with the hands positioned close together forming a diamond shape beneath the chest. This close-hand push-up variation places greater emphasis on the triceps compared to standard push-ups while also engaging the chest and front deltoids.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank position with your hands directly beneath your chest
  • Position your hands close together so your thumbs and index fingers form a diamond shape
  • Lower your chest toward your hands while keeping your elbows tight to your body
  • Push back up to the starting position, fully extending your arms
  • Keep your core engaged and your body in a straight line throughout the movement
