About this exercise

A deep bodyweight squat performed with hands clasped behind the head in the classic prisoner position. This variation encourages full hip and ankle flexion while keeping the torso upright, intensely targeting the quadriceps, glutes, and core.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly turned out
  • Clasp your hands behind your head with elbows pointing outward
  • Brace your core and descend as deep as possible, keeping your chest tall
  • Push your knees outward in line with your toes throughout the movement
  • Drive through your heels to return to the starting standing position
