About this exercise

An explosive plyometric exercise that combines the hip-hinge pattern of a deadlift with a powerful vertical jump. The movement develops posterior chain power, glute and hamstring strength, and full-body explosiveness without any external load.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Push your hips back and hinge forward at the waist, lowering your hands toward the floor while keeping your back flat
  • Explosively drive your hips forward, straighten your knees, and swing your arms upward to generate momentum
  • Leave the ground and jump as high as possible
  • Land softly with slightly bent knees to absorb the impact
  • Immediately transition back into the hip-hinge position and repeat without pausing
