About this exercise

A lower-body exercise where you step one leg diagonally behind the other in a curtsy motion before squatting down. This unique movement pattern places extra emphasis on the glutes and inner thighs while also challenging balance and hip stability.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet hip-width apart and hands on your hips or clasped in front of you
  • Shift your weight onto your left foot and step your right foot diagonally behind and to the left, crossing behind your left leg
  • Lower your hips toward the floor by bending both knees, keeping your front knee tracking over your front foot
  • Descend until your back knee hovers just above the floor or until you reach a comfortable depth
  • Drive through your front heel to return to standing
  • Repeat on the other side, alternating legs throughout the set
