About this exercise

A standing core exercise where you drive one knee upward and across toward the opposite elbow, targeting the obliques and abs while challenging balance and hip flexor coordination. The rotational crunch makes it effective for training waist definition and anti-rotational stability.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and place your hands behind your head or fingertips at your temples
  • Shift your weight onto one foot and lift the opposite knee upward and across your body
  • Simultaneously crunch your opposite elbow down to meet the rising knee
  • Pause briefly as the elbow and knee meet, contracting the obliques
  • Lower the leg and return to the starting position
  • Alternate sides with each rep, maintaining a controlled tempo
  • Keep your core braced and your chest up throughout the movement
