About this exercise

A jumping jack variation where the legs cross over each other as they come together instead of meeting side by side, alternating which leg crosses in front with each repetition. It adds an agility and inner-thigh challenge to the traditional jumping jack, making it an effective cardio and conditioning drill.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump and simultaneously spread your legs wide while raising your arms out to the sides
  • Jump again and bring your legs together, crossing one foot in front of the other as they meet
  • At the same time, cross your arms in front of your chest
  • Jump and spread your legs and arms wide again
  • On the next crossing jump, switch which leg crosses in front
  • Continue at a brisk, rhythmic pace for the desired number of reps or time
