About this exercise

A plyometric variation of the jumping jack where the legs cross in front of each other at the bottom of the movement instead of returning to centre, increasing the demand on the inner and outer thighs. It is an effective cardio drill for improving coordination and lower-body agility.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump outward into a wide stance while raising your arms above your head
  • Immediately jump again, crossing your right foot in front of your left as your arms cross in front of you
  • Jump back out to a wide stance with arms overhead
  • On the next cross, alternate which foot is in front
  • Keep a steady, controlled pace and land softly each time
  • Continue for the prescribed duration
