About this exercise

A jumping jack variation where you clap your hands overhead at the peak of each rep, adding upper-body engagement and coordination to this classic cardio exercise. The overhead clap slightly increases the challenge for the shoulders and provides an audible cue to maintain rhythm.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet together and arms at your sides
  • Jump your feet out to shoulder width while sweeping both arms upward and overhead
  • Clap your hands together at the top of the movement
  • Jump your feet back together and lower your arms back to your sides
  • Land softly on the balls of your feet and continue at a steady, bouncy pace
