About this exercise

The Chest Pull Back is a classic standing chest and anterior shoulder stretch. By clasping the hands behind the back and drawing the arms backward, it opens the chest, stretches the pectoral muscles and front deltoids, and promotes better posture.

How to Perform

  • Stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Reach both hands behind your back and interlace your fingers
  • Squeeze your shoulder blades together and gently pull your clasped hands backward and downward
  • Lift your chest upward while keeping your chin level and core lightly engaged
  • Hold the stretched position for 20–30 seconds, breathing steadily
  • Release and repeat as needed
