About this exercise

A compound cable exercise that combines a pulling motion with trunk rotation, engaging the lats and obliques simultaneously. The rotational component increases functional and athletic demand compared to a standard cable row.

How to Perform

  • Set the cable pulley to shoulder height and attach a D-handle
  • Stand sideways to the machine with feet shoulder-width apart
  • Grasp the handle with the hand closest to the machine, arm extended toward it
  • Pull the handle across your body while rotating your torso away from the cable
  • Keep your core braced and pivot on the back foot to allow full rotation
  • Slowly reverse the movement to return to the start
  • Complete all reps on one side, then switch sides
