About this exercise

The boxing right uppercut is a short, upward punch thrown with the rear (right) hand in a vertical arc, targeting the chin or body at close range. It requires hip drive and core rotation to generate power from a compact position.

How to Perform

  • Stand in an orthodox boxing stance with both fists at guard position
  • Slightly bend your knees and dip your right shoulder downward
  • Drive upward from your legs, rotating your hips and torso to the left
  • Swing your right fist upward in a vertical arc with the palm facing you at impact
  • Immediately return your right hand to guard position after the punch
