About this exercise

The Boxing Right Hook is a rotational striking drill that trains power generation from the hips and core, transferring force through the shoulder and arm. Performed as a conditioning or technique exercise, it develops shoulder stability, rotational strength, and cardiovascular endurance.

How to Perform

  • Stand in a boxing stance with your left foot forward, knees slightly bent, and both hands raised to guard your face
  • Rotate your right hip and torso to the left as you swing your right fist in a horizontal arc at shoulder or head height
  • Keep your right elbow bent at approximately 90 degrees throughout the movement
  • Drive the power from your back foot and hip rotation rather than just your arm
