About this exercise

A plyometric cardio exercise that mimics the skipping movement pattern — a hop-step rhythm with alternating knee drives — performed without any equipment. It elevates the heart rate, trains calf explosiveness, and improves coordination and rhythm.

How to Perform

  • Stand upright with feet together and arms relaxed at your sides
  • Begin by hopping on the right foot while simultaneously driving the left knee up toward the waist
  • Push off with the balls of your feet and swing the opposite arm forward naturally
  • Land softly on the right foot, then immediately switch to hop on the left foot with the right knee up
  • Continue in a steady skipping rhythm, staying light and springy on your feet
  • Keep your chest tall and maintain an upright posture throughout
