About this exercise

An isometric bodyweight exercise where you lower yourself into the bottom position of a bench dip and hold the position under tension. The static hold builds triceps endurance and strength at the most challenging point of the dip range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Sit on the edge of a flat bench with your hands gripping the edge beside your hips, fingers pointing forward
  • Slide your hips off the bench and extend your legs in front of you with heels on the floor
  • Lower your body by bending your elbows until your upper arms are roughly parallel to the floor
  • Hold this lowered position for the prescribed duration
  • Keep your back close to the bench and your shoulders pulled down away from your ears
