About this exercise

A plyometric exercise that mimics the explosive motion of a basketball jump shot, developing lower-body power, full-body coordination, and athletic vertical ability. The movement trains both the loading and extension phases of a real shot in a high-intensity format.

How to Perform

  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and knees slightly bent
  • Lower into a quarter squat, bringing your hands in front of you as if cradling a basketball
  • Explosively drive through your legs and jump upward
  • Extend your arms overhead as you rise, releasing an imaginary shot at the peak
  • Land softly with bent knees and hips, absorbing the impact through your legs
