About this exercise

A chest fly variation using a resistance band anchored at a high point, pulling the band downward and inward in a sweeping arc to target the lower chest. It replicates the high-to-low cable crossover pattern, providing constant tension throughout the range of motion.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band at a high point (above head height) behind you on each side
  • Step forward slightly so the band is taut, with handles in each hand at shoulder height or above
  • Stand tall with a slight forward lean and a soft bend in your elbows
  • Pull the handles downward and inward in a wide arc, bringing your hands together in front of your lower abdomen
  • Squeeze your chest at the bottom of the movement
  • Slowly return your hands along the same arc to the starting position under control
  • Repeat for the desired number of reps
