About this exercise

A chest fly performed with a resistance band anchored behind you at chest height, sweeping the arms inward to work the pectoral muscles through a wide arc. The band mimics the feel of a cable crossover and is a practical alternative for home or travel training.

How to Perform

  • Anchor a resistance band behind you at about chest height
  • Hold one end in each hand and step forward so the band is taut
  • Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a slight bend in both elbows
  • With chest tall, sweep both arms forward and inward in a wide arc until your hands meet in front of your chest
  • Squeeze the pectorals together at the centre of the movement
  • Slowly open your arms back along the same arc with control, feeling the stretch across the chest
