About this exercise

A dynamic plank variation where you alternately step each foot back behind you and return, challenging core stability and hip extensors while maintaining a rigid plank position. The alternating leg movement adds a coordination demand and keeps the core constantly engaged.

How to Perform

  • Begin in a high plank with hands directly under your shoulders and feet hip-width apart
  • Step one foot back further behind you, extending that leg while keeping your hips level
  • Return that foot to the starting position
  • Step the other foot back in the same controlled manner
  • Continue alternating sides for the prescribed number of reps
  • Keep your hips stable and avoid letting your lower back sag or your hips rise
