EasyCalvesShin

About this exercise

A simple mobility drill in which you rotate one foot in a circular path to warm up the ankle joint, improve range of motion, and reduce stiffness in the calves and lower leg. It is commonly used as a warm-up, cool-down, or rehabilitation exercise.

How to Perform

  • Sit or stand, then lift one foot slightly off the floor, keeping the leg relaxed
  • Point your toes and begin rotating your foot in large, slow circles — clockwise for the prescribed reps
  • Move from the ankle joint only; keep the knee and hip as still as possible
  • Complete the clockwise circles, then reverse direction for the same number of reps
  • Lower the foot and repeat on the opposite ankle
