About this exercise

A standing oblique exercise where you bend side to side and touch each ankle alternately, targeting the lateral core muscles. The continuous alternating motion also elevates the heart rate, making it useful as a warm-up or conditioning drill.

How to Perform

  • Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, arms at your sides
  • Keeping your legs nearly straight, bend laterally to the right and reach your right hand down toward your right ankle
  • Return to the upright position
  • Immediately bend to the left and reach your left hand toward your left ankle
  • Continue alternating sides in a controlled, rhythmic manner
  • Keep your chest facing forward throughout and avoid rotating the torso
