About this exercise

Alternate Leg Pull is a core exercise performed lying on your back, where you alternate pulling each knee toward your chest while keeping the other leg extended. It targets the abs and hip flexors while challenging core stability and lower-back control.

How to Perform

  • Lie flat on your back with both legs extended and arms resting at your sides
  • Press your lower back gently into the floor and engage your core
  • Draw your right knee toward your chest and hold it with both hands
  • Keep your left leg straight and a few inches off the floor
  • Release your right leg and return it to the extended position
  • Immediately pull your left knee to your chest
  • Alternate sides in a smooth, controlled rhythm
  • Breathe out as you pull each knee in and breathe in as you extend
